Nothing about parenthood has changed.
However it happens, we give birth, we feed, clothe, and bathe our babies, carry and calm them when they cry and answer a thousand requests in the space of a few hours just to see them happy.
No matter how tired we are, or how much there is left to do at the end of every day, they are a part of us, and we love them, unconditionally. That will never change.
But the world has.
We no longer live in tribes where there was a certain way to raise our children, nor do we have generations of families living together to share tasks and parenting. The number of choices we have now is overwhelming, and there's not enough support for parents at work or at home.
That's where IBU fills a gap.
As a volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation, we've been supporting parents since 1989. Initially set up by Cathie Thompson and Lesley Turner, IBU is the first parenting support network in Malaysia, and we aim to be the largest. Our goal is the same now as it was then - to support parents with young children.
We hold support groups for new parents, babywearing, breastfeeding, postpartum, and single parents. Our playgroups and social groups give parents a chance to have a break and make some new friends, while kids get a fun space to play. Our workshops introduce topics of interest for parents, infant massage, first aid & CPR, baby sign language, potty training. And our signature events include culture with arts & crafts, seasonal parties and markets and jumble sales, all family-friendly fun.
In short, IBU is a place for children, parents, and families to thrive.

French International Primary School KL
The French School in Kuala Lumpur opened its new primary school, Hevea on the 1st of July 2020. With brand new facilities, the school is also accessible by foot, 100 meters away from the current LFKL school.
Hevea welcomes children from the age of 3 to 8 years old in a safe, spacious and green environment.
Hevea is open to non-French speaking students from the “Très Petite Section” (Pre-nursery) to the “CE2” (year 4 of primary school).
The school provides new facilities such as swimming pool, a colourful playground, a canteen, activity and napping rooms adapted for small children.

Mandarin PIE offers programmes that utilise various teaching methods and materials to suit the different needs of families and children.
